surprise baby shower

i was trying to come up with something to post for today and realized that i hadn't shared my photos from our surprise baby shower last week.

this is the "mom to be" lei had been used at krissy's shower in may, and it made a reappearance for stephanie's shower. we're going to keep it around and have each "mom to be" sign the back of it at their baby showers.
i was in charge of getting stephanie to the office for a fake meeting and then into the actual room for the shower. so nerve-wracking! we made it, though, and she was definitely shocked! so then we all enjoyed pizza and snacks for lunch and helped open a few gifts.
she got some beautiful gifts, along with very practical ones of packages of diapers and wipes...
check out these hand-crocheted booties! so cute...
and then another one of amber's diaper cakes--
stephanie is waiting to find out whether the baby is a boy or a girl, so we managed to do everything in shades of yellow and green. she has been an awesome addition to our office and it's been so much fun to watch the belly grow :) her due date is set for early december, but we highly doubt she's going to make it that far! i'll be helping out with her caseload at work once she goes out following the birth.

and on a side note, it's been a crazy week. another day spent in the ER with a client on tuesday, and then i was on the road all day yesterday, from 11 am until almost 9 pm, helping transport a client to a specialized placement. and now i'm tired going into the weekend, which isn't a good sign. i'm leaving late this afternoon to go with our middle schoolers to their annual carolina christian youth conference (ccyc). we'll be getting back on saturday evening and then i'm singing with the praise band sunday morning, hosting another thirty one party that afternoon and squeezing in one more photo shoot after that. i'm trying to do too much and i know that--trust me, you don't have to tell me--but it's too late to change it. so i'm just going to push through and pray that next week is easier (and that stephanie doesn't go into labor quite yet.)

what's on your calendar for the weekend?
